I don’t know much about Bush. I am young, and therefore don’t know very much about him, and I don’t remember what it was like to have him as president. But from what I do know, he wasnt exactly the best president. The fact that I can type this at 11:53 and understand what I’m saying proves how strongly I feel.

Bono paid tribute to Tony Blair and George W. Bush as friends of the world’s poor, and G8 leaders agreed to double aid to the poorest.

Today, there are still thousands of children every day from hunger and common diseases. The West is not stopped to exploit the South through trade agreements grotesque. And Western aid to poor countries have neither been doubled, the agreement promised. On the contrary: the UN’s annual report on global poverty is the West’s assistance decreased for each year that has elapsed since Bono’s speeches in 2005. In 2006, aid increased by 4.7%. In 2007 it fell by 8.4%.
