    It’s a Daubantonia madagascarensis (aye-aye is what the natives of Madagascar call it). It’s probably not startled but it looks like a very young aye-aye.

    I had a professor in college who specialized in the study of aye-ayes. You can’t see it in this picture, but they have these incredibly long fingers that allow them to reach into hollow wood and pull out bugs. Fascinating critters!
