Although he doesn’t look exactly like Peter Lorre, he has similar roles and is a modern Peter Lorre. His role as Mink in ‘Miller’s Crossing’ immediately came to mind as a role that lorre would have been great in had it been made in the 40s.

Thank heavens! Since the first time I saw Buscemi years ago I thought of that cartoon, but I had no idea who it was or where it came from. Then I saw Corpse Bride with the little worm who was based on Peter Lorre and the agony of not knowing who the heck the cartoon guy was returned, but now I am finally satisfied! On a side note, I wish they showed more Looney Tunes.
