I’ll have to agree to disagree with you, because if I could vote in Canada I would go NDP, or even Green (what can I say, I’m a lefty). Stephen Harper’s government was found in CONTEMPT of PARLIAMENT, for goodness sake. It’s the first time in Canadian history this has happened, IIRC. Plus Harper seems like he’s trying to chip away at Medicare until there’s nothing left, and he’s all about Free Trade and not a whole lot about fair trade. I give him credit, though, for apologizing to aboriginals for the residential schools.

By the way, did you hear layton says that people who work for 360hrs can claim Employment Insurance and get this you do not have to work for 52wks., which is pratically a whole year WOW, I might just do that. just for 360hrs collect my EI and take to the sunshine for almost a whole.

Unfortunately primose, canadians have been brainwashed for many years, they have no clue that their country is the best in the G-7 but Socialist Layton does not want our country canada be the best because he will lose control of the fort.

The PM SH and the finance minister are hailed and rewarded in the international scene by other leaders but the canadian media felt that innocent canadians are not know of this far less be proud of canada.

I’m American and I know who Jack Layton is. And Michael Ignatieff, and Stephen Harper.

And oh, btw, Canada’s capital is Ottawa (which used to be called Bytown and was picked because of its distance from the US border, because the possibility of the US invading Canada was still seen as a threat). Ontario’s capital, OTOH, is Toronto. Are there any other things you don’t think Americans know? (the moral of this story is: please don’t generalize, thanks!)

Gah, frikking Jack Layton…. Yes, my political views lean towards the right. However, I must point out that that does not necessarily mean I agree with everything politicians espousing those views do, and I tend to think that ALL politicians either are idiots or become idiots as soon as they’re in power. It must be something in the water.

And Jack Layton looks like my evil grade school principal. That guy — well, it was my grade four teacher who screwed me up for life, but that guy confirmed it and made it worse.

Good point about the DNC chair, but the deputy mayor of Chicago? That would be like comparing Nancy Pelosi to David Miller. Not even that, actually, since Miller is mayor of Toronto.
