They don’t really look a lot like each other. There are some similarities, but not that many. Whenever someone mentions his name, I think that he’s a terrible actor. Putting them together, should they use him for the movie, is a bit of an insult to the character.

I would guess that the main reasons for an american remake are as follow:
1.Death Note brought a $#!7 laod of money to Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba.
2.They have no life, therefore sucking the life out of people who actually made a masterpiece, make a remake of it, and we get to call it crap…
3.I’m guessing they want to make anime more suitable for kids….seriously…let’s take the 3 latest animes that they are making american remakes of… Dragon Ball Z, Avatar and Death Note…
Dragon Ball Z: Piccolo is scary, therefore…they made him white, nicer and less menacing…
Avatar: Some kids dislike monirites (I do not), therefore…all the characters are caucasian…
Death Note: Death Note deals with Death in general, so they put in a “familiar” face in the picture and boom! you have a less scary movie…for us anime fans…it is the scariest thing you’ll ever see…

Yeah I know, remaking “Death Note” was a bad idea… there is no way that they’ll have people capable enough to play all the unique characters. On top of that.. the movie will have to be a trilogy, or even more than that, to avoid rushing the detailed storyline so much.
In my opinion, the manga and anime will never be surpassed, this going to go terrible for all death note fans. What the hell were they thinking.. the expectations to meet are way to high for them.

They look similiar, but hardly anyone looks enough like an anime character to be compared. It’s simply because one is flesh and blood(light), while the other is a drawing(Zac).

Well LABB is unlike L: Change The World. L: Change the World is basically a spinoff of the Japanese Live Action movie, where it loosely follows the manga/anime.
But in LABB, the information is consistent with the manga/anime and shows you how the Los Angeles BB Murders happened. Remember when L stated that Naomi Misora worked under him before she died? Yeah.
