I never thought of that before but I would guess they may have had Eastwood in mind when designing the movie look of Wolverine (Seeing as Logan is short, rarely has much facial hair, and his hair generally is a lot more gravity defying in the comics).
Nnnno, no they don’t.
Nothing to laugh at + Nothing to be impressed by = Fail.
Both men/character attractive in their own way, but look alike? Not so much.
the word “fail” has become increasingly annoying.

I noticed this as a kid back in the 80′s. With Wolverine’s use of “bub” and other Dirty Harry-type phrases, I figured it was pretty much a given…

Actually Wolverine’s been around since the 1800′s, so…
I always thought of this, even without the wolverine refrences, they do look alot alike except without the squinty eyes.
That’s because the person doing the original artwork in the comic strip based wolverine off of “Dirty Harry”.

I was just sitting here watching Dirty Harry on AMC and couldn’t believe how much the 1971 Clint Eastwood looks like Hugh Jackman. I wondered if I was the only one who noticed and googled it, and see the resemblance has not gone unnoticed. BTW…………. Hugh should have been the next James Bond – not that Daniel What’s His Face.
I definitely agree with you. I have noticed that too. Hugh would’ve made a wonderful Bond, unfortunately, Bond was British. Hugh Jackman is Australian. He could try a British accent. Throughout the Bond movies, a British actor was always played.

Actually they are BRITISH as in Scotland and Ireland are from the BRITISH Isles. And Timothy Dalton is Welsh. The only true ENGLISH Bond was Roger Moore. (and the cheesy-est IMHO)

Hugh Jackman does bear, I think, a strong similarity to Eastwood, depending on the character being played. I’d like to see Jackman in more westerns for that very reason.

YES!!! Glad I’m not the only one that thought Hugh Jackmans Wolverine character looks alot like a young Clint. Think all the hair (head and facial) that plays a big part in the resemblence. “Godammit”
One thing I would say is the photo of Hugh Jackman isn’t the best for showing his similarities to Clint, he’s looking either scared or puzzled in that picture, not his usual scowling self. Probably why some people disagree with the similarity.
