i always thought robbie rist looked like john denver , and always wondered if he was his son, the resemblence was uncanny ,but i clearly heard robbie say one time that he is not john denver’s kid ! that’s how i know plus their last names are different anyway.

I kind of felt sorry for this kid. He must have had it quite miserable back then when he was on the Brady Bunch show being the “jinx” cousin and looked just like a quarter-pint size John Denver. I just hope no one has made a mockery out of him despite of his past roles.

THEY BOTH APPEARED ON A TV SPECIAL IN THE 70″s AS PART OF A TRICK WHERE JOHN DENVER GOES INTO A BOX AND TURNS INTO A KID (OLIVER) THIS IS AND OLD ONE .

Denver was by no means classically handsome.He said himself on the Tonight Show that he disliked his ‘wide mouth,weird cheekbones and squinty eyes.’(It’s on YT,people.)But in his youth,with his good-natured personality,lean,blond and healthy looks,he was attractive in a boyish kind of way.From what I’ve heard from people who knew the guy he had hot & cold running women,(and Annie Denver,Cassandra Delaney and Susan Anton weren’t exactly plain)so movie star looks aren’t everything.

I can’t believe some of you have never heard of John Denver.Denver sold over 100 million records and was one of the biggest pop stars of the seventies. Some of you must have bought some of those records,you just don’t want to ruin your ‘street cred’. Robbie was added to the cast as Denver was popular with teens then(early ’70s) and to capitalize on that popularity.Rist was even in line to play Denver’s son in ‘Oh God’ but director Carl Reiner eventually decided this joke was a bit too obvious.
Personally I think Denver in his later years looked much more like Steve Irwin. Now THERE’S a case of twin sons from different mothers.

that was a horrible thing to say-John Denver didn’t deserve to die in a plane crash any more than Buddy Holly did. No matter how much you did or didn’t like their music, they were (are) icons. Long live Rock & Roll!!

the cruelty of the younger generation knows no bounds, the postings for this comparison is proof positive. JD had a wonderful voice whether you liked the banality of his songs or not. He stood up for freedom of artists you hear on the radio now (including rap artists); check your history of music. Thank JD as you would Frank Zappa and the guy from Twisted Sister for their efforts to keep music from being censored by congress. It is through their work that you are able to listen to music that you like because they stood up for your rights before you were born.
So, stop dissing him for being an “annoying twit” until you do more for music, the environment, world hunger, and the underrepresented. Get off your ass and do something for others the way JD did before opening your pie hole.

Robby Rist won a John Denver look-alike contest before he was cast on The Brady Bunch, so the similarity between his and Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr’s (John Denver’s birth name) appearance is far from new.

This kid was on John Denver’s show a couple of times. The likeness was recognized back then, too.
