    Not..even…close

    • moonbaby says:

I can see it in the eyebrows, the hairline, the shape of the head and the lipline, but Cary Grant was suave and had women swooning all over themselves. My grandmother knew him. He really was ALL THAT.

George Clooney is fine. He knows he’s a little Grant-esque and plays it up as much as he can with what he’s got. So what?

  2. Pam says:

NOT! Clooney will never have the class that Cary Grant had.

  3. sally says:

    George is just so hot.

  4. dethduck says:

    Hardly!

  5. IvanTheMildlyAnnoying says:

Even if it were REMOTELY true, it would be Clooney looks like Grant, as Grant came first.

    Grant was hot.

    Clooney is not.

  6. Leland Dantzler says:

Er, blasphemy to Cary Grant? I mean, I like Clooner, but, wow…

  7. squirrelfish says:

wow… I never thought I’d see the two hottest men side by side.. *drools*

  8. Hell Hath No Fury says:

Oh wow. I thought Clooney was a hotteh until I saw him next to Cary Grant, whom looks disturbingly similar to my great-uncle. *throws up a little*

  9. Birdgirl says:

    I don’t see a resemblance

  10. fnnkybutt says:

Rather than ‘totally looks like’, I’d say ‘faintly resembles, when he holds his head in a certain way’.

  11. ManfredMom says:

I don’t think they look alike, but I’d take either of them!!! ;)

  12. jess says:

Clooney wishes he could look that good.

  13. WarDragon says:

    Clooney lacks the shiny hair…

  14. WWWWW says:

I would say that they both have that “dapper-mofo” thing going on. The little smirk that slays the ladies. Well groomed looks.

I would say that Clooney strives to be in the same league as one of the classic leading men of all time, and he comes close in both looks and style.

I have to say, though, Clooney probably has bigger acting chops than Grant. Mr. Grant just happens to have been one of, if not the most, classy actors in modern times.

    • Ev says:

I have seen people kvetch about Clooney, but never with an explanation (other than the one I assume, which is sour grapes.) Anyway, yes, what you said. There’s not a lot of physical appearance sameness going on, but just as Grant was, Clooney is debonair, charming, charismatic, and handsome, as well as an accomplished actor.

    • Koki Kariya says:

Seriously, Mr. Grant wasn’t using that on the ladies :P I could only hope Clooney is so friendly when its a guys night out hehe.

  15. kiki says:

clooney wishes. grant was one hot mofo!!!

  16. turmeric says:

Clooney is the BEST! Grant doesn’t come close in my eyes!

  17. fubuki says:

    Needs less shirtless Clooney.

  18. David says:

Thank you, captain obvious! He’s only been modeling his film career after him for fifteen years.

  19. snaze says:

I have noticed a trend on here that bothers me. In this case I think it should say “George Clooney totally looks like Cary Grant”, not the other way around. I think it should be George Clooney who is being compared to Cary Grant because he was around first and is the more significant figure.

  20. Peg says:

Yeah, if you happen to be BLIND!

  21. kimberly says:

i like how it’s grant that looks like clooney….even though grant came before clooney.

  22. tewsday says:

George is like a classic Hollywood old time film star, they don’t mike it like Frank Sinatra and Grant any more but George is sooooooooo close. ummmmmmmmmm George is hot!

    • miss a says:

You could say that he is similar to Orson Welles (we’ve already established that this is a TLL fail). Cary Grant is wonderful, I’ve seen all of his films many times, but the man never directed anything. “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” and “Good Night and Good Luck” are excellent pieces of cinema. Clooney is a true renaissance man that happens to also be blessed with looks and charm. Good for him.

  23. sztool says:

    DO not diss Grant.

  24. Venezuelan says:

BTW It should be “George Clooney totally looks like Cary Grant”. Although they DO NOT look alike

  25. kathy says:

Could I be the center of a George Clooney Cary Grant sandwich?

  26. malka says:

well, as for Grant’s eyes, they remind me of Dermot Malroney more than of Clooney

  27. Rubberduckiemom says:

Try… Clooney trying to look like Grant!

  28. Miss x says:

I love both actors, however Cary is a true icon!

  29. Palema says:

I think there is a strong resemblance between the two, with the main differences being fashion of the times (plus Grant appears much younger in his photo) –but it’s a difference that could easily be bridged by hairstylists and makeup men.

As to who’s hotter — Gregory Peck!

  30. take em both says:

Oh c’mon–they’re both so hot–very different but they both have their own magic! I do think they resemble each other-but they both qualify for the standard American “Tall Dark and Handsome” title! I had a friend, now passed, who was friends with George Clooney and said, next to Tom Hanks, was the nicest, funniest, guy in Hollywood! (unfortunately I NEVER got a chance to be introduced–RATS!!)

  31. Kylabby says:

Why does someone always have to ruin something fun with politics. Personally, I think it’s all about charisma and when you’re going to compare anyone to George Clooney, the best one has got to be Spencer Tracy.

  32. Ree says:

I think that’s the wrong way around there, folks

  33. John Gore says:

I’ve always thought they looked alike.

  34. jlc says:

    An insult to Cary Grant

  35. nghs says:

There’s some minor resemblance, but Grant is much more debonair.

  36. Gallifrey says:

    Grant > Clooney

    In looks, acting, life, etc.

  37. gufetto says:

It’s those “old hollywood” genes of his. George Clooney is Rosemary Clooney’s nephew.

  38. eh buchan says:

Grant was very handsome and a good actor, but Clooney is just as handsome (though they don’t look much more alike than most guys of their type) but also is more intelligent. Not to say Grant was dumb, but Clooney is willing to do more with his celebrity.
Mind you, Grant had a lot of personal problems that may have stunted him.

    • Karen Arthur says:

No CG had the sense to realize that the public was interested in his movies not his politics. part of being intelligent is knowing when to shout your mouth,GC isn’t a brain trust just because he runs his mouth. how do you know CG had personal problems that stunted him??? In what way??? CG had class galore…

  39. Karen Arthur says:

I am so tired of this so called comparison.. Cary Grant is incredibly handsome, had a wonderful personality & his movies are still relevant today.
GC tries to hard to be Cg,he isn’t even close, not one little bit, There will never be another CG, he was one of a kind..

  40. emily says:

    i’ve always thought that

  41. Silver says:

They have the same style… one correction, though, it’s not the Crant looks like Clooney, but the other way around… Clooney looks like Crant

  42. Madison says:

I have only a slight issue with this article: You have it the wrong way. George Clooney looks like Cary Grant. ;)

  43. Clooney tries so damn hard to be one of the current elite of Hollywood, but in truth he could not even hold Grants JOCKTRAP. On a scale from 1-10 as far as separated at birth, probably a “3″. In appearence and persona he most suits the late WILLIAM HOLDEN
