THANKS Mary…I’m SURE that the topknot is the ONLY comparison Jenisageek was trying to make. Who cares whether the dog is a Lhasa, Maltese or Shih Tzu or whatever. I own a Lhasa Apso myself, and I’m not offended that the average person doesn’t know the difference between her and a Maltese or anything else! I like the opportunity to talk to others about her when they ask. The topknot is the only thing we viewers were supposed to notice and looks like we noticed everything but! Ah well…we are merely humans after all! If we were dogs of ANY breed we wouldn’t need our eyes to name that breed…just our noses

No, I assure you that it is a Lhasa Apso. The snoot is too short, and the hair is not white, so therefore it cannot be a Maltese. I have a Lhasa and I used to have a Maltese. So yeah. I know one person with these dogs. So I wouldn’t call it my area of expertise.
The discoloration in the rest of its fur is probably a result of not taking it to the groomer every week, as I noted above. Learn to read.

Also, “biscuit” is not a color. WTF.

First of all, you cannot determine the exact breed from that photo alone, unless that is actually your dog and you can vouch for the pedigree. Maltese, Lhasa Apsos, Shih Tzus…… these breeds have very many similar features. Hell, the dog in the photo looks just like my dog, and she’s a mutt.

Well if you’re going to nitpick, you can also see the dog has that biscuit color in the topknot and on its shoulder. Also, your knowledge of dogs does not make you an asshat. That would be the way you called jenisageek a retard for not knowing as much about your obsure field of expertise.

If you give them water with minerals in it, like tap water instead of distilled water, and don’t take them to the groomer’s every week or so, their fur will get discolored,
especially around their eyes and mouth.
