Lol metal thing. I think it’s a furnace
Cheers
Looks like an ice-cream maker.
and Easter Island Stature is called Moai….
it looks like an moai statue…
Yes, we had one of those wood stoves back in the 70′s. Came from Sweden, I think (tho there were US knock-offs)–Jotul (with the 2 funny dots over the o).
Norwegian make, at least. Not sure if the swedes have factories that make furnaces/fireplaces anymore^^
“Metal thing”…? Omg, of course it is a fireplace! I’m from norway though…..
It’s Jøtul, not Jötul…
I am from norway!! i had one of these
Yes they are made in sweeden
Y’mean a Moai? Jebus, nobody cares about research any more.
I knew it was a Moai, but I play Final Fantasy ^^
Or kinda like Gort. Click my name for linky.
That’s awesome, our house to this day is still heated by that woodstove. I have thought how this stove has looked like Easter Island for like 20 years since I was a kid. Glad to see others see it that way too!
Really? You don’t know what a wood burning stove looks like, so you call it a metal thing?
But yeah, that one does look an awful lot like an Easter Island statue…
We have that kind of wood burning stove in our summerhouse (I’m from Finland) and it sure does look like an Eastern Island head. I’ve always thought it does.
Wow, lot a oddly educated people here today, neat.
whatchamoodle totally does not look like head doohickey to me.
A for effort
yes.. it’s a wood burning stove… a metal thing.. yeah… wow.. i’m scared now
That “wood burning stove” totally looks like a metal thing!
it’s a stove^^ we have one of those at home!
…..shouldn’t this be on failblog?
lol, Metal thing makes it funnier
He looks more like something I’ve seen from Fallout. That guy in the powered armor whose helmet kind of looks like Darth Vader’s. I don’t know who that is, or, if it’s not a character, what that armor is called. But, the metal thing looks like the helmet.
I have friends who have one- though i thought it was a tiki mask.:x
The metal thing is a Jotul woodstove…
MEB! Thank you for posting the name…it was driving me crazy…we had a Jotul when I was growing up too…I was going nuts googling things like “utel”…I knew kinda what the name sounded like, just not the name itself. =D
Wrong blog man…
we have one of those. They’re suberb ovens (oven as in fireplace) .. think it’s a Jøtul model. I’ve always thought they looked like those statues too! ahha
o__o
Just no.
Lol, a metal….ummmm…thing.
Just in case anyone wants more strange info on the Jötul stove, or Jøtul as we write it in Norwegian, it was popularly named “Hanna Kvanmo” after a fat politician who looked a little like this stove. Also, the name Jøtul is from norse mythology. Dad’s got one.
lol! It resembles it.. I suppose.
:]
Jotul #4- one of the finest pre-catalytic woodburning stoves ever made. I sold these in the Eighties. They take an 18″ log and can heat up to 1800 square feet using only three full cords of wood a season (in Canada the heating season starts in October and ends in May).
Hello, I just installed a Jotul combi-fire #4 in my house, and I’m really liking it so far. I noticed that you mentioned that it can heat 1800 square feet, which is what my house is, but I’m having a hard time heating our entire house with it.
I’d appreciate hearing anything more you know about this stove!
Thanks,
Jared
Where do we get a jotul #4?
Where do I find a Jotul #4?
I have one of these #4′s, found at a yard sale, $150.00. They would’nt take any less. Looked like new. I always thought it looked like Rick Moranis, in the parody of Darth Vader. Good luck finding one, they are a bit pricey but you can get them. Using your local “penny saver” is a cheap way to reach a lot of people. Good luck. JT
It’s a wood stove. I have the same one in my house and have thought it resembled those easter island heads…
