Moby is a 40yo (20+ dedicated) electronica artist who has served hits under many genres, as long as it has room for full-melody. He serves quality in his songs and does nothing for himself. He is not rich and is not an artist hungry for fame. He’s well-rounded.

Plastikman is a minimal techno artist who concentrates his music into abstract beats. He known for holding a place in Detroit Techno and has a somewhat brief, but plenty, discography. He’s lived in the era and therefore has intellectual proof of it.

Oh, and Justice is a french-pop techno artist who shares a nice collection of songs with strong beats and substantial melody.

1. The two should not be contested. It’s like comparing Aerosmith with DJ Tiësto.

2. Stop fighting about it. I’m a full-blown Moby fan, but I still respect other’s opinion and prove it without an aggressive tone.

3. Don’t forget, this site only meant to compare their looks, not their music careers.

It really amuses me when people attack things at aren’t “mainstream” or part of the “norm.” Personally, as an older raver who’s been doing this for quite a while, I’ll go see Moby spin over Hawtin. Maybe that’s simply because I live in Detroit and can hear Hawtin just about whenever I want. And for anyone who says Moby lacks talent, try to find copies of his set from DEMF 2008 (for the ignorant, DEMF = detroit electronic music festival = the best weekend of the year = electronic music mecca). Moby’s brilliance is in his versatility. I’ve only ever heard Hawtin spin the same genre (maybe I’ve been unlucky that way…but meh). Moby, however, moves over a wide range of genres, from ambient, to new age, to vocal house, to progressive hard house. I’m not knocking on Hawtin, by any means, that’s just my personal preference.

And for god’s sake….you’re on the freaking internet! USE IT BEFORE ASKING MORONIC QUESTIONS!

Just because people who dig mainstream artists like Britney Spears and the various boy bands don’t mean that Richie Hawtin and Moby aren’t FABULOUS. Richie Hawtin and Moby are high demand over the globe, by people who actually have a smidgen of cool left in today’s over commercial world.

Richie Hawtin is a really amazing techno DJ from Canada. Actually one of our best electronic exports. I guess you have to be a raver to know him. He can rock the room like no other.

Moby is also an electronic artist that is more mainstream…although obviously not mainstream enough. He’s done songs for films like Gone in 60 Seconds, and the Bourne movies as well as working with famous artists like Public Enemy & Slash. He also noted for doing the remixes for several other artists.
