  1. WOO! says:

    FIRST! and best

  2. DethklokFan says:

Actually, Nathan Explosion looks like George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, as that is who he was directly based on.

  3. Hello, computer says:

And Peter Steele is. . . . fn HOT!!!!

  4. Fishstick says:

It would be more precise to say that the cartoon character looks like Peter, considering.

And, Peter is way more monstrously huge in real life. He self-describes as “Frankenstein”.

  5. Bee says:

One can only wonder how comfortable a chain is as a bass-strap.

  6. Dante says:

I’m pretty sure he’s supposed to look like Pete Steele. Probably modeled after him.

  7. Elsie says:

Heehee, I thought I’d never see anyone from Metalocalypse on here. Go Dethklok! <3

  8. gargoyle73 says:

Did you see Peter’s Playgirl spread YEARS ago? He’s packin’…

  9. fiendishrabbit says:

Nathan might have been based on George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher (singing style, personality etc), his physique looks IMHO more like Peter Steele.

Both Steele and Nathan have a heavy upper body build (with Nathan having pretty massive arms compared to others in the metalocalypse universe), while Fisher is more leg heavy.

  10. eiradis says:

    Way cool!!
If only Peter still looked like that :( I saw a TON concert last year, he is NOT aging well. And he used to be so HOT *sob* At least he still has that voice…

    • itara says:

I disagree, I’ve seen them twice in the last to years, and he doesn’t look to bad for his age.

      peter=sexy.

    • human says:

Being that he’s done addiction, jail and rehab and is (I’m pretty sure) almost 50 now, he’s doing pretty good. I’d still hit that.

  11. Goat says:

Nathan explotion was based on peter steele, ot just looks but the humor of his always negative attitude. the singing is making fun of someone else.

  12. Dee says:

I don’t know who Peter Steele is. But I totally have a crush on Nathan Explosion.

  13. Bee says:

I use his name and band (Peter Steele and Type O Negative, that is) as my nicknames in an online game! Didn’t see them at the Graspop festival in 2007. DAMN!

  14. Cpt. H. Bob says:

I said this ages ago. He does look like Peter. Peter is the best. Ever. Mr. Fisher must come after Mr. Steele.

  15. TurboBiscuit says:

I don’t know if anyone said this, but the character is based off George “CorpseGrinder” Fisher from Cannibal Corpse.

  16. Keating says:

    Brutal

  17. V says:

Not gonna lie, i TOTALLY had to go look up those playgirl pics. Glad I did too ;)

  18. damn I missed all of the wanker convo… I’ll just have to catch up…

*Pulls out a mild-mannered 5.2 inches and wriggles the day way. rofl wrf??¿¿

  19. dolst says:

Hey guise, I have a new, fresh, and original take on this whole Peter Steele and Nathan Explosion thing.
See, I don’t think Nathan Explosion was based on Peter Steele, cuz I think he looks more like Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse. Also, it doesn’t really matter because Peter Steele has a huge member.
It’s been my pleasure to bring completely new original content to this discussion.
    What?

    Surf Wisely!

  20. Audi says:

    Wow….
    Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha…

  21. NursT says:

I think Nathan Explosion looks like Robert Trujillo minus his goatee!

  22. ERIKA LEVIN says:

I totally think Peter Steele is extremely comprable to Nathan Explosion. He totally resembles him but def not as hot animated as he is in person!

  23. attorneys says:

    yes, these two look alike.

  24. Justin says:

    I…………..HATE………DETHKLOK

  25. Buddy says:

Though Nathan Explosion looks a lot alike Peter Steele (and I mean A LOT), I think it was unintentional. Brendon Small has said that Nathan is directly based on Corpsegrinder of Cannibal Corpse. Pickles was based on Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad. Toki was slightly based on Euronymous of Mayhem and Skwisgaar was modeled slightly after Valfar of Windir. I’m not sure on Murderface.

    Also: RIP Peter Steele.

    • JOEBEE says:

R.I.P Peter Steele. Wether you liked or not the music of Type-o-Negative, the band and Peter were originals that, will never be copied with any type of success. The end of an era has come. Stay Negative.

  26. Venom580 says:

I still have the playgirl from like ’95 with Peter Steele in it… YEAH!

  27. Lilly says:

6″8 tall he said so, and a true gentlemen.

TON rock. Halloween in Heaven Pete ;)

  28. Brie says:

The personality/voice definitely comes from CorpseCrusher, but I still say Peter was the inspiration for the look. He had the height (he was about 6’8”) and build. He was also often seen wearing bright green contacts and a gray shirt, like Nathan’s look. So, to me, Nathan is a combination of both of them.

  29. Brie says:

    RIP Peter Steele

  30. Princess says:

He was in playgirl? Damn I guess I need to get a new subscription…That man is yummy!

  31. jl5691426 says:

    What about Miles Long?

  32. Fishstick says:

That was the only issue even worthwhile out of Playgirl…and only for Peter.
