  2. LibraryShade says:

All of which look like blatant phallic symbols

  3. Cat says:

And both of them look like the monument to the Bastille in Paris.

  4. Austin says:

all of which look like people had the same ideas at the same times so once they got posted there were two of every comment and the “second” was way down the list

  5. lolRabbit says:

And a million other ones. There’s one in Zagreb, one in Budapest…

  6. PoodleGroomer says:

The Stachewz r Uz catalog isn’t that big. Custom orders take a long time and must be paid in advance with no refunds.
Memorial committees aren’t that bright or artistically talented, anyway.

  7. BAW says:

Their all based on Trajan’s Column in Rome.

  8. Chinook says:

I fail to see the LoL in this.
Both statues represent the same set of ideas.
Fact is, there are a LOT of statues that look alike.

  9. Kelly says:

this is retarded… there are millions of statues just like that. the only similiarities is that they all are pillars with angels on top. wooptie doo

agreed, the lolz here are in short supply and they must be conserved for more deserving samples.

  12. chris says:

Why does berlin have a statue of victory? You have to win a whole war to claim victory. Not the first bit were france surrenders.

  13. brazzy says:

Specifically, in this case the Danish-Prussian War (1864), the Austro-Prussian War (1866) and the Franco-Prussian War (1870–71).

The German victory statue is called Hermaansdenkmaal, (hope I spelled that right), and it was built as a monument to a battle where the Goths destroyed 3 legions of Romans in the forest.

    • supermechadeathchrist2000 says:

Where do you have that from? The Jungle Book?
As brazzy already said it’s build as a monument for the Prussian victories in the three unification wars.

The Hermannsdenkmal is a completely different monument in the Teutoburg forest, which is near Bielefeld, not Berlin.
And it were the Cherusci, not the Goths, who defeated the Romans.

Tja…..aber unsere Saeule war zu erst da!!!

  18. Xerdo says:

That is because both statues are related. One of the inspirations for the “Independence Angel” is the Berlin Victory Column.

  21. VerukaSalt says:

…aaaaand the Free Masons own us all. Thank you

  22. anon says:

looks like boston college eagle statue.

  23. Manuel says:

I know this is an old site… but come on!!! Of course they look alike! They are not a copy or a mistery of masonry! Those are all COLUMNS, a type of monument as common as obelisks or fountains, every country has at least one of those. If you still want to see freemasonry symbols, then look at the four obelisks surrounding the mexican column as well as it’s chess black and white marble at the basement and the 13 leafs on each plant depicted on it. The eternal flame lighted below or the stars at the entrance door. Mexican architecture is full of masonic elements, it’s not a devil thing, it’s just a very popular organization in all american countries.
