Great Lit stands the test of time, no matter who the originally intended audience is.

Anyway, Elliot Smith does have a Bruce Lee expression. But it’s that same look of inscrutability that Rickman is so good at.

So -1 point to Points Giver for such a feeble attempt to raise the ire of the Wizarding community, and +1 point for seeing the Bruce Lee connection…so I guess that balances out to 0 .

I wouldn’t say that Harry Potter is great literature. It’s terrific kids’ reading, and always has been; it’s made its mark on fandom. But great literature? I would take Silas Marner or The Scarlet Letter or The Mayor of Casterbridge over it any day.
