P.S. I’m pretty sure the idea of “evil scientist” counts as a staple archetype. It started loooong before Dr. Steel.
Yes the mad scientist has been around for ages. Those soldiers were just misguided. Dr. Steel and Dr. Horrible are different in many ways (pretty much the only thing they have in common is singing, even their motives for world domination are different), but the Steel fans got a bit zealous. I guess it still pops up occasionally, even though the mission has been long abandoned. Being a Dr. Steel fan myself, I admit I actually like Dr. Horrible and I wish they would make more of it.
They’re going to. They are actually working on a sequel, but won’t leak anything about it at all. So far the only additional thing we’ve gotten is 3 mini comics on Myspace Dark Horse Presents
