The Letter “G” has two meanings in Freemasonry. The first is it refers to “Geometry”, one of the seven liberal arts and sciences that all Masons are encouraged to study. The second, well, I guess the ritual explains it best: “…The Letter G has still a higher and holier signifigance. It alludes to the Sacred Name of Deity before whom all, from the youngest Entered Apprentice in the North-East corner of the Lodge, to the Worshipful Master, who presides in the East, together with all created intelligences, most humbly bow…”
