Sorry Joe, Rush makes no sense, anybody who claimes to love America and to be a patriot should never utter the words “I hope the POTUS fails” regardless of political affiliation. Can you site that please? Most of us “Lefties” were/are against the war, but not the troops. Not wanting/hating the war doesn’t mean we wish it to fail. So can you site where we wished the war to fail?
I didn’t want any of our troops in harms way. But personally, I find it difficult to root for any illegal invasion and occupation no matter who starts it, Democrat or Republican. One would hope that Britain and the USA would eventually learn from failures like Iraq and Afghanistan, or the Balkans.
When are you guys going to give up on the “illegal invasion and occupation” crap? Saddam repeatedly broke the cease fire agreement that had put the Gulf War on hold. He repeatedly refused to allow UN inspectors to do their job. And, Congress voted for the resolution authorizing W to invade Iraq.
It must be nice to have the ability to completely ignore the truth. In fact, the US had been bombing Iraq on a nearly weekly basis since the first Gulf War, in violation of International Law. The US (Cheney, Bush) refused to allow the inspectors to do their job, not Saddam. And the resolution passed by congress was a violation of International Law.
But you listen to Rush Limbaugh, so you don’t have a clue about a little thing I like to call Facts.
Then why hasn’t Obummer gotten us out of there yet? And INCREASED the number of troops? And hushed up Cindy Sheehan now that she’s protesting “The One”? What hypocrites you are!

Obama is a centrist with vaguely liberal tendencies, he’s not going to rock the establishment boat. Also, he probably doesn’t want to get assassinated by Right Wing Nut-jobs. Which is what happened to the last president who challenged the Right Wing of the National Security Establishment.
However, even a mushy Centrist is 1,000 times better than an outright Fascist in the Oval Office.
