I totally LOATHE Brimley and feel that Earl has been insulted!!! I LOVE Pickles and read the strip daily-and actually, I know a gentleman who looks more like Earl than no-talent Brimley…AND his wife looks just like Opal! In fact, when I first met this couple it startled me! And they’ve never heard of the strip “Pickles”! Go figure! ;-p

Brian Crane, who writes ‘Pickles’ is a Mormon and BYU graduate. Wilford Brimley, though not a Mormon, was born in, and lives (or lived) in Salt Lake City, Utah. It’s probably no coincidence that there’s a resemblance there.
