  1. It uses the same logo because it’s the parent company of 7- eleven. Not a valid look-a-like if it looks like itself.

    Boooo, Eric Konop, booooooo.

  3. Anonymous says:

7-11 logo totally looks like 7-11′s parent company’s logo.

  4. Duh says:

Same company = similar logo. >o< duh!

  5. eric says:

Baka! Onaji no Kaishakara Mochidon Onaji mitai.

  7. game says:

Thats 711′s parents company dumbass. 711 was bought out by a Japanese holding company in the 1990′s 7 & iholdings is that parent company.

  8. El Vis says:

Can we move this one to failblog?

  9. Natalie says:

This is actually part of 7-11. The holdings just mean that its like an ATM.
I saw it when i went to japan, it just means theres an atm 7i atm in 7-11.
Pretty much the only way for americans to get yen the best way

  10. Emily says:

I concur, this isn’t a real “totally looks like” because they are the same company and can therefore use it. SUBMISSION FAIL.

  11. Beru says:

This Fail is Failed! Those are the same company!!!

  12. aikoe says:

Man, it’s really easy to look like yourself.

  13. notolaf says:

I notice that nobody has said yet that these companies are related somehow….

  14. wigglesPEsquire says:

Complete failure. Who do you think owns 7-11?

  15. marxz says:

oh no who’d have thunk that 7Eleven’s shop logo looks like 7Eleven’s corporate logo
    (7Eleven being a brand of 7&i corp.)

Next Ford dealership logo Looks like Ford Motor Company logo

  16. telefil says:

I remember being saddened when I was in Japan and all the comforting 7-11 signs were changed to “7 and i Holdings”. But ultimately the saru udon remained just as tasty, and the tappuri kuriimu puriin remained just as sweet, and the Boone’s Tropical was still only 500 yen a bottle, so it was all good :D

    • Jadeder says:

i miss the egg sandwiches, and bento boxes they had.

i forgot the company name but there was this drink that only came out around christmas time. i think it was a strawberry milk soda flavor…mmmmmm oishii ne!!!

  17. The Phoenix says:

  18. Yeahhh but only one has Slurpees!

  19. Joe says:

Thanks transmorpher776 for your submission. Way to jump the gun before doing a lil research. Talk about fail.

  20. XD says:

yah the guy who made the second comment is right. its the
parent store and is practically just a bigger version of 7-11.
i went to japan last summer and those 7 and i holdings are at
every corner. its actually kinda funny.

My favorite part of the internet is how someone can make a simple innocent mistake and then 100 people can rip on him for days, weeks, months at a time.

Can we get a few more people to repeat the same message? I’m not sure it’s entirely clear yet.

    • aikoe says:

Can we get a few more people to be intelligent enough to do their research before publicly humiliating themselves? I’m not sure it’s entirely clear yet.

      • nick_nack says:

        aikoe,
I know from experience I can do the research intelligently and still publicly humiliate myself. :-)

Does aikoe mean “depiction of the child of love”?

        • aikoe says:

          …XD

No, it does not, and I have no idea how you got that out of it.

          • nick_nack says:

            aikoe,
            here was my flawed logic:
            aikoe = aikio-e
aiko = ‘love child’ or ‘child of love’
ukiyo-e = image of the floating world
            ukiyo = floating world
            so…
aiko-e = image of the child of love
but ‘image’ lacks dramatic flair, so…
aikoe = depiction of the child of love

I suppose it could be broken down as “ai koe”, but I won’t translate that since it could be offensive.

Or maybe your name is Aiko E, where the “E” is just an abbreviation, but “Aiko” would still mean “child of love”.

By the way, this is a perfect example of my last comment.

  22. Andrew says:

I just wish I was still in the country where I could walk into a 7&iHoldings.

  23. tanner says:

    i holdings your 7 eleven logo™

  24. Jim says:

Damn… who ever posted this must be stupid.

  25. Jack Doe says:

    Seriously? 7-11 looks like 7-11?

  26. fact checker says:

Failblog definitely needs to hire a fact checker.

Also there was recently a “spelling fail” for a delicatessen called “Delly”

But 60 years ago “Delly” was as widespread a term as “Deli”…
just a few seconds on wikipedia, guys….

  27. Me, myself, and i says:

it even has green a nike swoosh at the bottom…

  28. Bradders says:

Yes, they are the same company, in effect.
7-11 sold a franchise in Japan to the Ito-Yokado company in 1974.
After 7-11 got into financial difficulties in 1980′s, Ito-Yokado bought a majority share of the “parent” company.
Read all about it in “Project X: Seven Eleven”
Japanese companies don’t shamelessly rip off trademarks. Any more. Probably.
    I’d call that a fail.

  29. Jazzzzzzzz says:

It looks the same because it IS the same. Do a little research before you post something so stupid next time. Why would anyone steal such a popular logo and try to pass it off as their own? Think about it.

  30. Sean says:

Yeah, 7-11s are in Japan like every 50 feet. In most towns you can give directions in relation to them. Who the hell posted this one anyway? This whole article should be on failblog. “Look alike FAIL” Or “Parent company FAIL”

  31. Kuri says:

    まあ〜ね。

  32. Tim Lawson says:

    They’re the same company!

  33. inaka_rob says:

Same company!!!!!!! In Japan i Holdings bought out the 7 eleven chain but kept the main logo.

  34. major phail says:

    w-o-w

  35. transmorpher776 says:

Well, SORRY. I Would have done research, had I not found the logo in a picture that took place in some sort of factory. If I had found on a picture of a street corner or something, then I would hoave looked in to it.

  36. HERA, QUEEN OF EVERYTHING says:

You are such a dork. Get over yourself. You are not funny, but here is your public apology:

We as the general public of TLL are terribly sorry that YOU ARE SUCH A DORK!!!

  37. ENjoy says:

I’mma let you finnish there and I’m really happy for you but QotW has the worst comments EVER!… WORST COMMENTS EVER!
