I agree. there are a few cosplays that larger people can do that skinny people can’t, but for some reason they always try to do the over popular under-weight under-dressed main characters instead of characters that they could potentially pull off perfectly. it actually sickens me to think that they couldn’t be more creative with their costumes.

the last big cosplay that I saw and liked wasn’t very well made, but because of the persons figure you could clearly tell that she was trying to be a moogle, even though all she was wearing was a white sweat set with wings sewn on the back with head gear like a moogle. I tell you, no skinny girl would have been closer to a moogle then her, if anything they would have looked more like a humanoid moogle instead >P.

so yeah, creativity is a key part of cosplay.

as compaired to the extremely underweight cosplayers dressing up as muscular characters? I unfortunately got dragged to an anime con, I still have nightmares. They made me take my pyramid head (boogieman for you SH5 fans) costume. Saw a tiny female PH, a boney twig of a teenager in a PH costume, and some horrible ones, I stayed for maybe 2 hours after being harassed to have said cos players want to take pictures with me or fighting me.. wtf there were a good number of hot chicks in bad costumes but in that crowd they think they are the queen of the ball cause they look good and wasn’t worth my time (not to mention I being married lolz). So a good chunk of the fatties stay at home and the anorexic ppl dominate cosplay.

I disagree: fat people can cosplay as long as they do it well.
I hate it when skinny people show up at cons in their underwear and think their great, bu I love the look on their faces when I win best costume…

Her costume…where should I start…it’s not even that well made. If it were well-made, that’s another story.

I think maybe San wasn’t the best Idea for her…maybe she should have gone as Noh-face from Spirited Away…covers up the…unwanted parts…

Hi! The helmet was made using a large plastic Halloween cauldron…I cut out the front and put this thick black photography sleeves all around it…(forget what they’re called but it worked great). To keep it on I shoved a black body pillow in it….surprisingly comfortable. I was even able to run around town doing a scavenger hunt in it without missing a beat.

This particular thread IS a costume contest…..this is why they used the words “costume” and “contest” adjacent to one another and threw them in a sentence that also included words like “photo” and “you” and phrases such as “in your costume.” I know English is a tricky language, but with a little work, it can be done!

Is there any written/unwritten rule in TLL regarding “intentional” look alikes? Coz if there isn’t, then all cosplays come in.
