I want a hat that looks like Buckingham Palace!

  2. Dirk says:

    Her nose too!

  3. Jon says:

At some point, all Star Trek alien facial features resemble female anatomy – from Worf’s forehead to Kes’ ears…

    • keithybabes says:

Mind you, what are the chances of finding another life form in a distant galaxy, and they look completely human except for a few extra wrinkles on the nose, or pointy ears. And they speak English with American accents? Is it just that the Star Trek makeup department only had a $100 budget per episode, or did I miss the episode where it emerged that all life-forms on all planets were descended from a humanoid ancestor?

  4. Gaz says:

So Australia is founded by Bajorans, not British prisoners?

    • keithybabes says:

Kai is short for Kylie, obviously.

    • F!5H5T!X says:

Australia was originally found by the Dutch actually, but they thought it was crap and left. Then Captain Cook re-discovered Australia later on (in a nutshell). There were no convicts involved in the finding of our country dude.

This is Vedeck Winn, Not the Kai. As Kai she wore a yellow robe and a different hat.

  6. She looks mean as hell.

    • tyberius says:

That’s the beauty of her role. Unlike a certain smoking hot sci-fi series antagonist I could name, she didn’t have to resort to snapping a baby’s neck to establish her evilness – she just walked in on a scene and you knew she’s gonna be blowing up schools, weaving political conspiracies, releasing ancient evil spirits and kissing wrinkly old men left and right for her evil purposes in no time.

    • Dingus McDoohickey says:

This is the same actress who played Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. So, yeah, mean as hell is pretty much it. No matter who she plays!

    • thetrillgirl says:

yeah, she’s great in the role, my child. :-)

  7. andy says:

    You may LOL, my child.

Things about the universal translator I never understood:

    1) OK it translates what people say, but everyone should look like a badly dubbed movie because their lips would not move in time with their voices.

    2) How does it know to leave certain flavoursome bits of say Klingon in the original for impact instead of translating them?

    • dgv says:

yeah, we’re not supposed to think that deeply about it. Things like that are why I call my one buddy ‘fanboy’

  9. munkyface710 says:

OH MY GOD WHAT IS UP WITH HER NOSE?!?!?!?

    • dgv says:

She’s a Bajoran. all their noses look like that.

      • Kerta says:

Welcome to the wonderful world of Rubber Forehead Aliens. Need something different, give it a ridge. Want it a little more alien? Add an extra set of nostrils. Want totally off the wall bizarre? Make it look like a snake!

  10. Ray says:

I remember making this comparison the first time I saw that character back in the 90s.
