    • ms muppet says:

Lestat would kick the arses all the twilight fairies together

      • ms muppet says:

*of all the twilight fairies put together. whoops :P

        • wheeeeedoggie says:

And yet Spike would wipe the floor with his lame bleeding heart ass. Let alone the original Dracula who is like a whole different kind of vampire, he’s so much more awesome than the lame Twilight losers and Lestat.

          • ... says:

I loled (to you). Lestat would kick anyone’s ass! Spike is boring

            • Arch says:

Psh, Sorin Markov would just stomp all over the rest of those vampires.

              • freddyfrijolero says:

oh please, lestat is almost invinvible. drinking akasha’s blood makes him survive all that crap that happened to him, though he wouldnt care about the cullens, he would just be on his way and do whatever the hell he wanted.

          • Tea says:

I agree with you completely! Spike and Dracula are way more badass. and, let’s not for nosferatu!

  4. katie says:

its not dr cullen its carlisle cullen

  5. Sssiak says:

    LEE STAT?

  6. Ashley says:

this is so sad, first she used anne rice ideas and character names now this? originality: she lacks it. think i will go read a REAL book now where the vampires aren’t gayer than my gay friends.

    • A Random Pooka says:

Anne Rice characters .. most of them are bisexual, or gay. You do know this right? Homoeroticism is HUGE in her work. There is a lot of subtle homoeroticism in INterview, but I think it got blatant somewhere around the 4th book with that guy from the Talamasca.

The Mayfair Witches series had gay characters.

Exit to Eden. Speaks for itself.

Cry to Heaven was all about castrated Italian opera singers and the romances between them.

Which character names did Stephenie Meyer use from Anne Rice, btw? And which ideas? A love story? Or a vampire story. Neither one was invented by Anne Rice.

God, Twilight fans and Twilight haters have several things in common: Blind stupidity, the inability to cite references, and the belief that their opinion is to be taken as fact.

      • Najiwench says:

        /agree

I read all of the Twilight books, and have been an Anne Rice fan since before Interview was a movie…(I think I was in the process of reading The Tale of the Body Thief when that movie came out)..and the only similarities I see are that both stories are about vampires.

I like the Twilight books and movies because they are mindless and fun…I like Anne Rice because she was more artistic and her writing was more like poetry to me.

        • A Random Pooka says:

Anne Rice definitely had a way with words, even though she was a bit overlong at time –

Lestat, to Armand after being told that he will be punished for being an abomination and didn’t live as a proper vampire should — “You keep saying that, and it keeps not happening!”

The statement Armand made immediately prior to that was like this gigantic monologue, though.

My personal favorite Anne Rice books were the Mayfair witch stories, because I loved the Taltos and the Little People

        • the-pigeon-hunter says:

i love anne rice too, safe for the fact that there is way too much gay sex and way too much “in these ways he was beautiful: blablablabla….” 30 pages later the story continues.

i like her stories but oh my god is she sexually repressed, or what?

          • A Random Pooka says:

I think she had a period of sexual discovery that she felt the need to share with everyone. A lot. Like a kid with a new toy that won’t put it down.

Oh yeah, and has anyone thought of any names that Meyer stole from Rice?

        • Haley says:

“I like the Twilight books and movies because they are mindless and fun…”
“I like Twilight because it’s mindless.”
          “Twilight is mindless.”
Sounds pretty accurate to me. ;)

    • Gandalf says:

      Um,

Stephanie Meyer wouldn’t have been in charge of costume and character design for New Moon, which this frame is from. She didn’t ‘steal’ anything.
Also, Carlisle’s picture is from a flashback, meaning that his clothes and hairstyle is not the way Meyer depicts it generally throughout the series. It is plausable that Carlisle would happen to look similar to someone from the same era, and coincedently happens to resemble Tom Cruise in Interview.

      • A Random Pooka says:

Yeah, you can’t take someone dressed in a period flashback and complain that they look too much like someone else from a period movie. That’s just silly

  7. Amanda says:

Ok Lestat was a bad ass mofo Vamp…even in girly period clothing. He actually did what a vamp does….sex and blood and being an ass while getting away with hell. AND he didn’t sparkle. ☺ That is all, Kthx

    • the-pigeon-hunter says:

yeah the character of lestat is cool. shame he became a dark haired one in the sequel.

  8. roflmaolawls says:

most of the actors in twilight act like the characters in interview with the vampire(the evil vampire in the first book that was killed. james i think. whomever played him was totally taking everything from interview with the vampire. idk, dont know much about twilight. avatar:the last airbender on the other hand….’^.^)

    • A Random Pooka says:

I’m not defending or arguing against Twilight, or interview. Both are pulp romance, and I enjoyed reading both. I also have no delusions that either are great works.

But exactly HOW did Twilight’s actor rip off Interview with a Vampire? I saw no similarities, and can’t thin of any, other than the obvious being a vampire. Which isn’t really ripping anybody off.

    • Megalodon says:

AtLA FTW. Although capitalization and punctuation never hurts in getting your points across. You’re giving all of us AtLA fans a bad rep.

  9. Annie says:

NO! Peter Facinelli is far better looking than Tom Cruise. Plus, Peter was born in Queens, rather than upstate NY. And we all know that any of the five boroughs are superior to Upstate….LOL

  10. Amanda says:

Carlisle was one of the better vampires in Twilight. Not that that’s saying much.

  11. its not dr cullen its carlisle cullen

    • Earthling says:

      …Dr. Carlisle Cullen?
      What’s the difference?

    • maerynpearl says:

I call my Dr by Dr Lastname though she was my neighbor and outside of dealing with formalities I do call her by her first name.

Quite frankly, if someone goes through the trouble of becoming a Dr (be it a sparkly fairy or your class valedictorian) they DESERVE to have the title Dr used rather than their first name.

Not that I like twilight… but that’s just common courtesy.

      • Vila Restal says:

Actually in Britain Consultant Doctors are called Mr. (Well some are, apparently it depends on the branch of medicine, some branches demand to be called Mr, others don’t give a monkeys whether they are called Mr or Doctor.)

  12. UnreleasedKraken says:

    So…Peter Facinelli’s gay, too?

  13. Tennessee says:

Hard to believe he plays Coop on Nurse Jackie….

  14. SKW says:

You know, that was probably on purpose. As an homage. Probably an unwelcomed one.

  15. Ashley says:

hmm wait i just realized something, this is completely mindless and pointless, i just read all the comments. god, is everyone in the world this stupid? this is why i don’t generally speak to people online, no one ever seems to be able to have an intelligent conversation. i am out.

    • A Random Pooka says:

I do agree that this is pointless. It’s entertaining.

I also looked at the time stamps. My reply to your baseless claim was before your latest post. I’m not sure why you’re saying no one is able to have an intelligent conversation. I would venture to say that you just realized you can’t win the argument you were going to get yourself in and decided to back out, claiming that I’m a big dummy head

  16. Kelps says:

THANK YOU !!!! I thought so too, but everyone I mentioned it to just looked at me funny and said I watched Twilight to much…

    • bbtall says:

I READ Twilight, not watch it! Its better in the books. The movies are terrible!

      • Kelps says:

I totally agree, but u cant SEE similarities in books!
But yes, the books are FAR beter than the movies, well, exept Jackson Rathbone I’d watch any shit with him in it! hahaha

        • Vila Restal says:

In almost every case the book is always far better than the movie. Case in Point – Starship Troopers. In which the director (God!! Can’t remember the guy’s name) read about 10 pages of the book, got bored and made his own version up including Psychics who look like something out of the Gestapo. (Whereas in the book, the guy who went to the Gestapo in the film actually joined the Scientific Branch in the book, and got killed in the Arachnid attack on Pluto.) Also Judge Dredd (not to be mistaken with Judge Dread, who is (or rather was the guy is long since dead now) a white Reggae singer, who used to sing Ska, and reggae versions of nursery rhymes (shall we say with a rather blue hue, if you know what I mean ;-) ) was far better in the Comics, as the film was far too much famous actor driven, as Judge Dredd almost never appeared without his helmet on (except on a couple of occassions, but you never actually saw his face, and if you did, it wasn’t his face (the one where he went to a face change clinic in the Precinct HQ) but since the Leading Actor was Sly Stallone, he insisted on getting his face shown on screen. Also when a Judge is found guilty of any crimes, he is sentenced to penal servitude on Titan, and has his face altered to cope with the environment on Titan. In the film he was transferred to a normal prison.

  17. A Random Pooka says:

Ok, so the pictures do look a lot alike, regardless of your standing on Twilight and Anne Rice’s Vampire chronicles.

  18. bubba says:

Interview with THE vampire. All you freakin fanatics and I’m the one who has to correct this?

  19. ming says:

    do not agree

  20. Kellie says:

Hmmm, both are blonde, both are dressed in period clothing, both are in vampire movies, both look gay, yes we have a winner.

  21. pm says:

The character from Twilight is seen in a flashback in period clothes – from the same time period the character from Interview with a Vampire is seen. Not too much of a stretch that they would look alike. The costume designer of Twilight and not the author is responsible for that. They may very well have been doing that on purpose as creative people in movies often reference things in other movies they admired. Additionally, why is Peter Facinelli referred to as Dr. Cullen (in character), but Lestat (Tom Cruise) is referred to as Tom Cruise? It should read Dr. Cullen totally looks like Lestat since it is the characters being compared…cause sorry, Peter Facinelli looks absolutely nothing like Tom Cruise.

  22. drrola says:

i made the same lookalike months ago and didn’t got published… ¬¬

  23. amaterasu says:

Umm… Just wondering if ANYONE who says they read the Vampire Chronicles remembers that male vampires can’t ACTUALLY have sex? There are a lot of people purporting that those books are filled with homosexual activity, and while there is definitely homoeroticism, there is not much in the way of sex… Just felt like clearing that up…

Also, Lestat pwns Carlisle (who reads like a watered-down Lestat with a side of conscience)… He’s survived coming face-to-face with the original vampires, God, and Satan. Also, the guy can run around in the sunlight and not fry or be conspicuous? None of the other fictional vampires can’t do that…

  24. Kim says:

My Sisters made me see Twilight with them, I said immediately that Cullens looked like Tom Cruise. I did not see the second movie and I missed the Lestat comparison chance. Ah, oh well.

I love how anything Twilight causes a big fight EVERYWHERE.

  25. Melayahm says:

I’ve only seen the first film, and when I did, I immediately thought, ‘god, Carlisle Cullen looks like Tom Cruise as Lestat.’ Hard to believe its not intentional on the part of the casters. Other than that, the Meyer books are school girl pap, nothing more or less.

  26. Haley says:

That’s because Twilight is a TOTAL rip-off of everything else combined.

    Twilight =/= original.

  27. michaela says:

    they are the same person.

  28. Sauce says:

You mean except for the fact that he’s a vampire, not a fairy? And the fact that he doesn’t sparkle?

  29. Ari Gold says:

    amazing..they are brothers

  30. keen says:

they are twins.. love these actors.

  31. keen says:

they look like twins.. i love twilight and tom.

  32. Danni says:

Carlisle: *Stands in the sunlight and is fine.*

Lestat: *Stands in the sunlight and dies*

NOOOOO! Lestat, I love you! ):

Grr. SO not fair that Lestat can’t survive sunlight. *Looks over at Carlisle* Well he IS a doctor…

I can’t choose! I love them both so much.

Peter F. is amazing, by the way. Especially in Nurse Jackie.
