Ah, Freddie… The world rocks a little less without you.

  2. Liz says:

    How about “not at all”?

  3. D says:

But could Sir Richard make even a song as goofy as Radio Gaga sound awesome? I think not.

    • surrealfarm says:

Freddie made everything he sang sound incredible. He could do it all…. from rock and roll to metal to opera.

  4. Andrew says:

Are you sure that’s a picture of Sir Richard Burton (the actor)? Because that style of hair and mustache and even the dated looking photo is screaming mid to late 19th century…unless of course, that’s a pic from a film or stage production and the story is set in that time period..

    • Jlgrand says:

This is NOT the actor. You are right about the time period. Per Wikipedia:
Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton KCMG FRGS (19 March 1821 – 20 October 1890) was an English explorer, translator, writer, soldier, orientalist, ethnologist, linguist, poet, hypnotist, fencer and diplomat. He was known for his travels and explorations within Asia and Africa as well as his extraordinary knowledge of languages and cultures. According to one count, he spoke 29 European, Asian, and African languages.[1]

Here’s to the best rock frontman ever! The best all around musician ever.

The resemblance is amazing. In fact so amazing that I had to get more info on this man via wikipedia. Does anyone know where Freddie’s parents were born? Because not only did this man travel to India but he also traveled to Freddie’s birthplace ZANZIBAR! This man was also very intelligent just like Freddie. Could they be connected somehow?

        • Jlgrand says:

I have spent some time looking for info, but to no avail. I also looked at Sir Burton, but have not found information that he had any children. His travels and writings show that it could be possible he had children out of wedlock in the many locations of his travels. But I am unsure of any of it at this point. During his army career, between 1842-1853, he WAS stationed in Gujarat with the East India Company. His fellow officers said while there Sir Burton ‘went native’, learning their languages and immersing himself in the local culture.

Freddie Mercury’s birth name was Farrokh Bulsara and his parents names were Bomi and Jer Bulsara (‘Bulsara’: named after the town of Bulsar). The town is now known as Valsad in the western Indian state of Gujarat. So there is a possibility there…

The above is all from the wikipedia articles on Freddie Mercury and Sir Richard Francis Burton.

You found some great information. Could it be that Sir Burton spread his seed around in the 1800′s? I’ve looked at pictures of Freddie’s parents and his sister. Freddie is the only one with lighter skin. So you found that Sir Burton was stationed in Gujarat and Freddie’s lineage came from Bulsar now known as Valsad, located in the western Indian state of Gujarat.

I wish I had the connections to contact Freddie’s sister. Would be interesting to hear her thoughts. Or even Freddie’s mother. She is still alive and in her late 80′s I believe. Sir Burton could be Freddie’s great-grandfather or great-great grandfather!

One thing for sure, they both had great mustaches. :)

wooooooo Freddie! Thanks for the lil bit of awesome in my day!

  6. BAW says:

The explorer, not the actor. The man who translated the Kama Sutra.

  7. Queen of the World says:

That is so racist. On behalf of all actor impostors being compared to dead homosexual singers worldwide, I demand a public apology.

    • Gerben says:

It may be that he was gay, but he was also one of the greatest singers to have ever walked this planet

    • Jlgrand says:

      1) One’s sexual preference has nothing to do with one’s race. Look it up.

      2) The name of the site is TotallyLooksLike.com NOT TotallyLooksGAYLike.com.

I wasn’t going to respond to a hater, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to educate.

Freddie Mercury ROCKS and still totally looks like Sir Richard Burton. No apology will be forthcoming.

    • Renko says:

    • QueenRocksForever says:
